Customs Clearance & Important Notes
General customs guidelines:
- All imported goods must be declared to customs and accompanied by a detailed inventory list.
- Personal-use household items are generally eligible for duty-free importation, subject to local customs regulations.
- Certain items such as food, plants, medications and restricted goods may require special permits.
- Keep purchase receipts and proof of value for all items to facilitate customs clearance.
- Our specialists are familiar with local customs procedures and will help you prepare all necessary documentation.
Prohibited & Restricted Items
The following items may be restricted or prohibited from import. Please consult our specialists before shipping:
Prohibited Items
• All food • Honey, pollen, bee propolis, honeycomb and other bee products • Plants, bulbs, cuttings, tubers, rhizomes, bulbs and seeds • Packaging materials: such as straw or used fresh-food crates • Items restricted under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), such as coral, ivory, snake skin or whale bone products, tortoise shells, and certain seashells
Declare Items
Items that require inspection on arrival, and in some cases you may need to provide proof of their country of origin: • Wooden items • Garden equipment and outdoor furniture • Items filled with seeds or straw • Animal specimens and taxidermy trophies • Dried flowers or Christmas decorations made from plant materials • Items made from bamboo, rattan, coconut or straw • Items containing hair, fur, unprocessed wool, hides, feathers or bone • Animal grooming and veterinary equipment, beekeeping equipment, saddles, reins, bird cages and pet beds • All outdoor items, camping gear, sports equipment, hiking boots and other sports shoes that may be contaminated with soil, seeds or water, including traditional or herbal medicines, health supplements, and natural remedies containing animal or plant ingredients
